Senior Executive Officer

The Greenock Chamber of Commerce and Manufactures was established by Royal Charter in 1813. I was delighted to be invited to join the Chamber in 2013 to facilitate the Bi-Centenary celebrations and transition the Chamber to Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber membership had grown over the years and the name change was to enable the Chamber to better reflect the geographical area represented by its membership. More than a name change, the remit involved maintaining Royal Charter status while working with the Board to better equip our Chamber and our Members for future business success. No-one was more delighted than I when our Supplementary Charter was granted by Her Majesty and passed under the Great Seal. We formally became Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce at our AGM on 24 June 2016. Highlights of this journey have been improved financial performance, streamlined processes, new sponsored by events with growth in membership and increased business collaboration.

The UK has entered a period of significant change and one of the roles of the Chamber is to engage with our members to help understand what this means individually and collectively and how we can help. Please continue to share your views as this greatly helps develop your Chamber.

I very much look forward to working with you all in the year ahead as we grow and develop our Inverclyde community of businesses.
