Inverclyde Repopulation Strategy – Your Input is Needed

A long-term decline in population, particularly among young and working age people, has been identified as one of the biggest challenges facing Inverclyde. It is recognised that there’s a need to retain existing and attract economically active new residents, inward investors and visitors in order to promote economic development. In this, the role of the Inverclyde business community will be crucial.

The Inverclyde Alliance, comprised of Inverclyde Council and partners (including the Chamber of Commerce), have commissioned research into the causes and consequences of population decline, and to develop an approach to addressing this challenge. Consultants EKOS are currently undertaking this study and are looking for input from local businesses. There are three ways in which you can help:

  • If you would be happy to answer a short, confidential telephone interview with EKOS, please contact Liam Turbett or John Kelly on 0141 353 1994 or by email at liam.turbett@ekos.co.uk.
  • There will also be an opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas at the next monthly breakfast meeting on Thursday 1 November 8.00-9:30am in Fresh in the Oakmall.
  • An online survey will also be distributed for local businesses in due course.
