To everyone who achieved the results they were hoping for, well done. You should be incredibly proud of your achievements.

Exam results are an important milestone, but they don’t define your potential or determine your future. There are many different routes to a successful and fulfilling career, and countless people have followed a path they never expected.
Closer to home, Martin Compston left school to pursue a career in football before discovering acting, going on to become one of Scotland’s best-known actors. Sir Tom Hunter left school at 15 before building a business that made him Scotland’s first home-grown billionaire. Billy Connolly began his working life as a welder before becoming one of the world’s most celebrated entertainers.
Whether your next step is university, college, an apprenticeship, employment, starting your own business or taking some time to decide what’s right for you, remember there is no single route to success.
