We’re thrilled to announce that Ocean Youth Trust Scotland (OYTS) will be our official charity partner for the ICON Awards 2024. This incredible organisation is dedicated to empowering young people through the transformative experience of sailing.
Since 1999, OYT Scotland has been a pioneering voluntary organisation and youth work charity, offering life-changing adventures on the high seas. Their award-winning voyages are more than just sailing trips—they’re opportunities for young people to push their limits, discover their potential, and build valuable skills. No prior sailing experience is needed; in fact, most participants come aboard with none.
For over two decades, OYT Scotland has been committed to ensuring that all young people—especially those facing deprivation, social isolation, and exclusion—have the chance to realise their full potential and lead fulfilling lives. They offer financial assistance to both groups and individuals, ensuring that their programs remain accessible and impactful.

We are thrilled to announce that Gerry McDade will be the host this year’s ICON Business Awards!
Based in Greenock, Gerry is a multi-talented professional known for his work as a hairdresser, writer, presenter, broadcaster, and commentator. His impressive career includes roles with BBC Scotland, TALK107, Setanta Sports, Radio Forth, and Celtic TV.
In writing, Gerry has made a significant impact with his work for Celtic FC, contributing scripts for various club DVDs. His book credits include Celtic – The Supersonic ‘70s! from Black & White Publishers, The Last Line – My Autobiography – Packie Bonner published by Ebury Press, and His Name Is McNamara – Jackie McNamara from Pitch Publishing. His latest book, ‘Football, Freedom and Paradise – My Story by Rudi Vata, Pitch Publishing, came out in August of this year.
As a presenter, Gerry has hosted events featuring esteemed former footballers like Gordon Strachan, John Hartson, Chris Sutton, John Brown, Derek Ferguson, Lubo Moravcik, Craig Brown, Joe Harper, Jim Craig, Leigh Griffiths, and Scott Brown. His versatility extends to hosting award evenings for organiSations including the NHS and Police Scotland.
Currently, Gerry co-hosts Matchday Hospitality for Greenock Morton FC with former Morton star Andy Ritchie.
