Moving On Inverclyde Invites the Inverclyde Community to Take on 100-Foot Challenge at Falkirk Wheel Abseil
Moving On Inverclyde, the recovery charity supporting people rebuilding their lives after drug and alcohol addiction, is inviting local supporters to step out of their comfort zones and take on an unforgettable challenge, the Falkirk Wheel Abseil on Saturday 21 March 2026.
Set against the backdrop of one of Scotland’s most iconic engineering landmarks, the world’s only rotating boat lift, participants will descend 100 feet down the Falkirk Wheel, experiencing breathtaking views across central Scotland while raising vital funds to support recovery services in Inverclyde.
No previous abseiling experience is required; fully trained instructors will be on hand throughout the event to ensure safety and boost confidence for everyone taking part. Friends and family are encouraged to come along to cheer on participants, enjoy the waterfront setting, and lend their support.
All money raised from participant sponsorship goes directly to Moving On Inverclyde, helping to fund counselling, wellbeing activities, peer support and recovery programmes for individuals affected by addiction in the local community.
This event provides a powerful way to show solidarity and make a meaningful contribution to long-term recovery pathways right here in Inverclyde.

A spokesperson from Moving On Inverclyde said:
“This abseil is more than a challenge – it’s a chance for our community to come together, have an incredible experience, and show that recovery is possible when we support one another. Every pound raised helps us continue offering life-changing support to people who need it most.”
