ICON Awards Shortlist Announced As Inverclyde’s Premier Business Awards Returns

Inverclyde Chamber is delighted to announce the 2023 shortlist for its ICON Awards, the annual business awards, sponsored by Diodes Incorporated.

Taking place on Friday 15th September, the ICON Awards are the premier business event in Inverclyde, celebrating and highlighting the success of local companies.

The 11 award winners will be announced at the ceremony, which is to be hosted by Scottish broadcaster, Gerry McDade at Greenock Town Hall.

A hairdresser, writer, presenter, broadcaster, and commentator, Gerry is based in Greenock and has worked in both television and radio for companies such as BBC Scotland, TALK107, Setanta Sports, Radio Forth, and Celtic TV, as well as currently hosting matchday hospitality for Greenock Morton FC.

Diodes, the leading global manufacturer and supplier of semiconductor products return as this year’s headline sponsor after the success of the 2022 Awards.

Category sponsorship also sees executive recruitment firm, MM Search, Tweetiepie Media, and Golden Casket return alongside three new sponsors, James Walker Devol, Angel Images, and A&I Geotechnical.

Nominations for this year’s awards closed in July 2023, with the initial applicants reviewed to create a shortlist of two final businesses for the award categories.

ICC President, Lizzy Todd said: “We’ve had a fantastic response with entries, and it’s been fantastic to see so many new and returning businesses putting themselves forward.

“We are grateful to Diodes for continuing its support for the awards as headline sponsors and we still have space for category sponsorship for those keen to be involved with the ICONs.

“A huge congratulations is due to all of our finalists and thank you to all of the businesses that entered. As expected, it has been hugely competitive, and we look forward to recognising and celebrating Inverclyde’s vibrant business community on 15th September.”
