30 organisations lined up for jobs fair

Job seekers will be able to link directly with 30 employers and support organisations at the latest Inverclyde jobs fair next week.

The event will take place in Greenock Town Hall on Wednesday 2 April 2025 from 10am until 12.30pm.

There are 23 employers and seven support organisations due to attend thus far with more expected to be added.

The jobs fair is organised by Inverclyde Council in partnership with Greenock Jobcentre and Skills Development Scotland.

Some of the confirmed attendees include representatives from the council’s HR and Business Gateway services, Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) homecare service, Inverclyde Leisure, ScotRail, Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac) Ferries, Ministry of Defence, Ogilvie Construction, Balfour Beatty, British Army, McGill’s Buses, NHS and charity Quarriers.

Councillor Michael McCormick, Inverclyde Council’s convener of environment and regeneration, said: “The Inverclyde Jobs Fair is the perfect opportunity for employers and prospective employees to meet face-to-face to discuss vacancies and training opportunities and also for job hunters to get the help and advice they need directly from the people who are hiring.

“These events have been extremely well-attended in the past by employers and job seekers and I expect another great turnout in Greenock Town Hall next week.

“Inverclyde has a wealth of talented people who want to get into work, are looking for a change of career, or are seeking training and development opportunities and we have a range of local and national organisations on our doorstep that are actively recruiting so the jobs fair is the ideal way to bring everyone together and explore opportunities.”

As well as employers and training providers in attendance at the event, there will also be people on hand to offer support with people’s CVs and Skills Development Scotland will be there to offer career and training advice.

The jobs fair is free to attend and is a ‘drop-in’ event so people can visit any time between 10am and 12.30pm with no appointments required.
