Inverclyde and Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce joined together to host an international trade workshop as part of International Trade Week 2023 on Thursday 9th November.
Hosted at the new Wyllieum at Greenock Ocean Terminal’s Visitor Centre, the event attracted more than 15 local businesses all at different stages of their trade journey, all looking for support to grow their businesses internationally.
Attendees got a sneak peek of the Wyllieum, a new art gallery opening in March 2024 which will show the largest collection of work by George Wyllie in the world, alongside a rolling programme of temporary exhibitions, events, and workshops.
Speakers at the event included ICC’s Past President, Mark Spragg, Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce’s CEO, Bob Grant, Lorraine Anderson, Stakeholder Engagement Manager at Scottish Development International, and Stewart Dee, Stakeholder Engagement Lead at the Department for International Trade Scotland.
Inverclyde Chamber President, Lizzy Todd said:
“Thank you to Shari Workman and Mark Spragg for organising and hosting ICC’s International Trade event at the Wyllieum as part of International Trade Week.
“It is great to see so many businesses based in Inverclyde at different stages of their export journey, and we hope we can help support them as they develop.
“If any individual or business is interested in finding out more, I would urge them to get in touch with the chamber and see how we can help further.
“It was great to have the support of Scottish Development International, the Department for Business and Trade as well as Renfrewshire Chamber, and we look forward to working together to support local businesses in the future.”
The event also enjoyed the help of Peel Ports, with ICC thankful for their ongoing support.
