Come and join the ‘Literati Guide to Inverclyde’ Spring Clean 2024.
Green Tangerine are planning litter picks between 15th March and 28th April 2024 covering the length of Inverclyde’s shoreline.
This is part of ‘Keep Scotland Beautiful Spring Clean 2024’ where they will join 1000s of members of the public across Scotland who will be out improving their local areas.
Would your business like to get involved? Everyone welcome! Everyone needed to meet their biggest challenge ever!
Who are they?
They are a community collaboration, helping nature, promoting sustainability and a Keep Scotland Beautiful Anchor group.
Green Tangerine Community Interest Company was established in 2022, incorporating Literati which has been in
existence for over 7 years.
What they do:
In 2023 they hosted 102 events with over 700 people and picked up 5430kg of rubbish, the weight of over 46 Dolphins.
In the first 3 weeks of this year 47 volunteers picked 90 bags of detritus and assorted rubbish.
What are the benefits for individuals, for communities and for the environment?
Meet new people, get outdoors which helps you relax and de-stress, feel empowered by doing something to improve your local environment. You will also help the marine life as there is evidence that 80% of the litter in our rivers and oceans comes from the land so by keeping the beaches clean we can improve the quality of our seas. Small actions do make a difference.
To celebrate the outcome of the Spring Clean they are hosting a family picnic at Lunderston Bay on the 21st April 2024. Maybe you would like to support this?
