Channel 4’s Production Training Scheme is now open for applications.
For over 15 years, the scheme has provided entry-level opportunities in TV production. This is a part of its wider 4Skills programme which discovers and develops talent from across the UK, with a focus on attracting those currently underrepresented in the TV industry.
For the first time, this cohort of the Production Training Scheme is solely concentrated on scripted production. There are 12 full-time roles available as either Trainee Assistant Script Editors or Scripted Development Assistants. These roles will be based at independent production companies for 12 months across the UK, with Channel 4 providing 50% of the salary and industry-leading training and development.
In Glasgow, C4 is working with independent production companies Black Camel and Two Rivers.
Black Camel are one of Scotland’s leading production companies with an exciting slate in development. Credits include ‘Off the Rails’ and ‘Repression’.
Two Rivers, part of Channel 4’s Indie Growth Fund, make Escape to the Chateau for Channel 4 and their team have an impressive range of credits including shows like ‘Luther’ and ‘Doctor Who’.
For those interested in learning more about the Production Training Scheme, C4 hosted a virtual workshop with former Channel 4 trainees and representatives from the indies involved in the scheme. You can watch it back here.
People can apply via https://careers.channel4.com/4jobs and find out about the scheme at https://careers.channel4.com/4skills/production-training-scheme. Applications close on November 8th 2021.
