Economy Secretary Kate Forbes has collaborated with leading business organisations, including the Scottish Chambers of Commerce, to launch a Business Principles Agreement.
The Agreement sets out plans to refresh how the Scottish Government will work in partnership with businesses to drive economic recovery and transformation.
In an open letter to businesses across Scotland, Ms Forbes states that businesses and business organisations should be involved throughout the development of policy where appropriate. It also pledges that the Scottish Government will ensure lived business experience is at the centre of policy design which will be evidence-based.
