From 1 May 2022 routine population-wide COVID-19 testing will come to an end. However, anyone with respiratory symptoms will be advised to stay at home until they feel better to reduce the risk of disease transmission in workplaces and more generally.

This change means that the current link to independent test results which forms the fundamental basis of eligibility for the Self-Isolation Support Grant (SISG) will no longer exist. The Scottish Government is keen to explore other viable alternatives, if they exist, to deliver this important support for businesses and their employees in the face of this UK-wide policy change.

In order to explore any other viable alternatives for providing SISG beyond 1 May 2022, the Scottish Government are conducting rapid engagement with employers and employees and the organisations that represent them.

This takes the form of a short survey to gather some quick responses from employers in Scotland on the policy changes impacting continued delivery of the Self-Isolation Support Grants (SISG) once the mass population testing regime changes on 01 May 2022.

By taking the short survey, employers can inform the Scottish Government’s ability to better evaluate the feasibility of continuing this important form of economic support for employees and employers in Scotland.

Due to the extremely short timescales of this work, the survey will close at midnight on Tuesday 22 March. The Government will receive responses automatically when businesses/employers press ‘submit’ at the end of the form.
