Commenting on reports that Berry BPI is to close its Greenock manufacturing facility and the potential 65 redundancies, ICC President Lizzy Todd said:
“We are all deeply saddened at the Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce regarding the news about the planned closure of the Berry BPI factory and the subsequent job losses.
“This is a difficult period not just for the affected employees and their families, but also for our local community and economy.
“We all hope there is still an opportunity for a positive outcome to happen and all actions are being taken by the appropriate bodies.
“We, at Inverclyde Chamber, will be supporting local and regional government agencies, policymakers, and stakeholders to provide the necessary support.”
