Global internet giant Amazon has secured a deal to stay at the huge premises it operates from in Gourock.

Amazon employs hundreds of people at the fulfilment centre at Faulds Park. which was leased for 15 years in 2004 from M7 Real Estate Investments Partners Ltd.

The landlord gave Amazon “notice to quit” on 7 February 2019, saying the company would be required to “remove from the premises” on or before 1 August 2019.

Amazon lost court action against the move and had planned to appeal.

However, an Amazon spokesperson said:

“We understand this has been a concerning time for our associates and are pleased to confirm we have reached an agreement with the landlord to extend the lease of our fulfilment centre in Gourock which maintains our operation in Inverclyde.”

The company will no longer be proceeding with court action.
