Santa Claus may be coming to town, but he’ll be visiting Cardwell Garden Centre first!
The big man with the red coat and white beard is looking forward to meeting youngsters at the garden centre’s Big Christmas Weekend, being held on Saturday and Sunday, November 26 and 27.
There’s lots of festive fun to be had for all ages at Cardwell and Santa’s Grotto and Carnival is open between 10:00 and 17:00 on both days.
And another special guest all the way from the North Pole will be visiting Cardwell, near Gourock, during the weekend. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer will be in the centre to meet and greet everyone between 12:00 and 16:00.
Freshly-cut real Christmas trees will be on sale and there will also be a Christmas Treasure Hunt and prize draw, face painter, seasonal food tasting, special offers and ten per cent off Christmas goods – except food and houseplants.
Entertainment on Saturday, November 26 will come from the Clydeside Singers and the Salvation Army Brass Band with the Woopie Singers and the Riverside Youth Band performing the following day.
Children can see Santa at Cardwell every weekend until Christmas Eve between 10:00 and 17:00.
Santa will also be visiting Cardwell every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, between 13:00 and 16:30 during December, in the weeks running up to Christmas Eve. And he’ll be at Cardwell for an extra couple of days, on Monday and Tuesday, December 19 and 20, between 13:00 and 16:30. On Christmas Eve, Santa’s Grotto will be open between 10:00 and 16:00.
There’s no need to pre-book a visit to Santa’s Grotto, as it’s first-come-first-served on the day.
Cardwell’s retail general manager, Paul Carmichael said: “This is a great time of year at Cardwell, as we love seeing the excitement on the faces of youngsters – and the grown-ups – as everyone gets into the Christmas spirit.
“Coming along to our Big Christmas Weekend is all part of the run-up to the big day and everyone seems to enjoy themselves.
“Why don’t you see for yourself by coming along to join the fun at our Big Christmas Weekend?”
