ICC Begins Search For New Senior Executive

Rachel Burns - Chamber SEO

Inverclyde’s largest business network is to begin its search for a new Senior Executive Officer (SEO) following the news that current SEO Rachel Burns has decided to leave the organisation.

Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce has begun its search for a replacement for the high-profile and exciting role, working alongside its local membership, the Scottish Chambers of Commerce, and the more extensive Chamber network across Scotland.

The decision to leave is a personal one, with Ms Burns announcement confirmed to the Board of Directors in August 2020 and is expected to depart later this month.

Ms Burns joined ICC from local regeneration firm, Riverside Inverclyde in July 2019 and has played an instrumental role in the delivery of the Chamber’s five-year strategy which was shared at the Chamber’s relaunch in August 2019.

Reflecting on the news, Robert MacDonald, Vice President of ICC, said:

“We are sorry to see Rachel leave and on behalf of the Board and our members, we would like to thank her for all of her commitment, dedication and tenacity.

”Rachel will be a hard act to follow, but has done a fantastic job in making the administrative, financial and membership side of things much clearer for the Board and has taken giant strides in helping to galvanise our relationship with the wider Chamber network and the Scottish Chambers of Commerce.

“The Board of Director’s have now reviewed the role in line with feedback and will now consider a new appointment that can further support our aims of growing our membership, delivering our events and networking programme and lobbying for Inverclyde’s business community.”
