Inverclyde and Renfrewshire Chambers Combine To Host Roundtable For International Trade Week 2023

The UK Government will next week be hosting a programme of events, webinars and workshops promoting the opportunities that global trade presents to UK businesses.

International Trade Week was run for the first time in 2021 and the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) says that the third iteration is “set to be the biggest yet”.

This year’s programme is centred around four key themes:

  • Practical advice on exporting goods and services.
  • Government services to help exporters.
  • Securing investment from overseas.
  • Trade opportunities in the Middle East, Indo-Pacific and the US.

As part of International Trade Week, Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce alongside Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an international trade round table discussion.

Speakers include ICC’s Past President, Mark Spragg, Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce’s CEO, Bob Grant, Lorraine Anderson, Stakeholder Engagement Manager at Scottish Development International and Stewart Dee, Stakeholder Engagement Lead at the Department for International Trade Scotland.

Speaking ahead of the event, Mark Spragg said:

“This promises to be an exciting event as we look to support increased exports from Inverclyde, Renfrewshire and the west of Scotland.

“We’d invite businesses of all sizes that are currently or looking to move into exporting to join us for this event to understand the support available to them.”

The event is being held at the new Wyllieum located in Greenock Ocean Terminal on Thursday 9 November. Doors open at 17:00 for a prompt 17:30 start, with the roundtable running until 18:30.

The event is free to attend and interested businesses can sign up here.
