In a bold and symbolic celebration of strength and healing, local charity Moving On Inverclyde is inviting members of the community to take part in a Firewalk on Saturday September 6th at Branchton Community Centre, Greenock, as part of Recovery Month 2025.
This unique event, delivered with Firewalk Scotland, will give attendees the chance to walk barefoot across burning embers, a powerful act representing personal transformation and overcoming fear.
“The firewalk isn’t just about the physical challenge,” says Melissa Pick, Events and Marketing Executive at Moving On Inverclyde. “It’s about taking a brave step forward — for yourself, for someone you love, or for the wider recovery community. Recovery Month is all about hope, and this event embodies that beautifully.”
The event is open to anyone, however participants must be over 16, and no experience is necessary — participants will be guided and trained on the night by expert facilitators.
Moving on Inverclyde will cover registration fees for all service users wishing to participate. External participants can purchase tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/moving-on-inverclyde-firewalk-2025-tickets-1476226024779?aff=oddtdtcreator. Spectators can access the event for free.
A fundraising target of £50 per person has been set, with all proceeds going directly back into Moving On Inverclyde’s support services and activities for Recovery Month. Sponsorship forms can be collected from the Moving On Inverclyde reception.
Alongside the firewalk itself, the evening will include warm refreshments, a community raffle featuring prizes donated by local businesses, and a welcoming, empowering atmosphere. Any local businesses wishing to donate raffle prizes can get in contact with Moving On.
