Inverclyde Women’s Aid (IWA) takes a momentous trip down memory lane as they bid farewell to an indispensable member of their team, Carol McLaughlin.

With a remarkable career spanning 35 years of service at IWA, Carol retires as Team Leader, leaving behind a legacy that has positively impacted countless lives.

Carol first joined IWA as a volunteer, dedicating four altruistic years before becoming a full-time employed member of the IWA team.

Through the lens of her experience, Carol has witnessed the evolution of IWA and the transformation in the lives of numerous women and children dealing with domestic abuse.

Her relentless passion, commitment, and untiring effort to support those in need have remained undiminished over the years.

In her role as Team Leader, Carol was admired and respected by the team, partner agencies, and supporters. She has cultivated a working atmosphere imbued with respect, camaraderie, and commitment to our cause, making her departure all the more poignant.

Linda Harkin, Director of Inverclyde Women’s Aid, said, “In my short time with IWA, Carol has proven to be an irreplaceable source of knowledge that cannot be matched.

“Carol welcomed me in and guided me where possible to begin our journey into new possibilities.

“I am grateful for the support and belief she afforded me in planning for the next chapter of IWA.

Although Carol is taking early retirement, she will always be a pivotal part of IWA going forward and I wish her a very happy retirement.”

As we look forward to the future, we remain deeply grateful for the foundation that Carol has helped lay down. IWA wishes to express its most heartfelt thanks for her service over the past years.
