Pakistan Trade Delegation Event

Following on from the signing of the MOU between the Scottish Chambers of Commerce and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry, SCC will have a return delegation visiting Edinburgh on 24th/25th August.

SCC will be hosting a round table (details yet to be confirmed) which is likely to be attended by a Scottish Government Minister so will attract some great publicity and will be hosted by SCC and supported by the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce.

Pakistan occupies a geopolitically important location at the crossroads of South Asia, the Middle East, and Central Asia. With over 191 million people and an increasing urban and young population, Pakistan’s economy is poised to grow steadily in the coming years.

With a growing middle class and an affinity for UK expertise, products, and brands, there are good opportunities to increase Scottish exports of goods and services in this unsaturated and rapidly growing market.

Pakistan was the UK’s 52nd largest trading partner in the four quarters to the end of Q4 2022 accounting for 0.3% of total UK trade.

There are opportunities for Scottish businesses to benefit by integrating Pakistani firms into their supply chains. Pakistan is keen to expand and diversify its export base and is already competitive in products such as textiles, garments, surgical instruments, steel, and sporting goods.
