Arc Vehicle Services Managing Director and Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Director, Ian Moffat has been appointed to the Scottish Chambers of Commerce Business Advisory Group.

The group brings together business leaders from Scotland’s key sectors to analyse and review Scotland’s economic performance.

The Group has four formal meetings a year (each quarter) and carries out engagement and work between meetings focused on the health and future direction of the economy.

The Business Advisory Group members will also meet with key Scottish Government Ministers to advise and present informed and substantial economic data, providing a valued discussion on the strengths and weakness of the Scottish economy.

Commenting on his appointment Ian said:

“I’m delighted to be appointed to this influential group in order to ensure businesses in Inverclyde have a voice at the national table.

“The Group is informed by economic trends identified in data emerging from the wide-ranging members of local chambers across the country, including Inverclyde.

“It acts as an important platform to influence, shape and communicate business and economic policies, with the aim of making Scotland an attractive place to do business.”

Ian joined the ICC Board of Directors in 2019 and is a time served Marine Engineer and has worked locally in Greenock Yards.

Ian has a wealth of experience in both the Private and Public Sector, leading large multi-disciplined teams and delivering a wide range of frontline facing services, including start-up and turnaround.

In 2011, Ian joined Inverclyde Council where he spent five years leading and transforming the Council’s Roads, Waste Management, Grounds Maintenance, Street Sweeping, Facilities Management, Building Maintenance, Registrars and Fleet Management services.

During his tenure, Ian significantly reduced service operating costs and led the Council to become the best performing recycling Council in Scotland.

In 2016, Ian set up Arc Fleet Services and has overseen the company’s growth and expansion to become a key player in the Vehicle Rental, Accident Repair and Fleet Services Industry, while creating local employment opportunities and expansion into Glasgow.
