Industry Experts to Speak at Inverclyde Tourism Event

Inverclyde Chamber is proud to support Discover Inverclyde‘s Tourism Industry Event, a free information and networking session open to anyone involved in tourism in Inverclyde.

The event will give businesses who are looking to get involved in local tourism or are already in the industry, a chance to find out more about opportunities and developments coming up in Inverclyde and will be held in the Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock on Friday 27th March.

There will be an overview of the Scottish tourism industry from keynote speaker, Chris Greenwood, Visit Scotlands Senior insights manager, highlighting tourism trends both nationally and locally.

2020 is the year of coasts and waters in Scotland and Carron Tobbin of West Coast Waters will also be presenting to show how Inverclyde has been involved in this exciting project bringing locations throughout the West of Scotland together.

Final speaker Scott Allan, Inverclyde Council Director Environment, Regeneration & Resources will then give an update on the new cruise visitor centre and gallery being developed and Greenock Ocean Terminal. The £19 million development taking place on the banks of Clyde is set to welcome over 150,000 cruise visitors to Scotland from 2021.

There will be also be plenty of opportunities for businesses attending to network with other attendees and event partners Visit Scotland, the Federation of Small Businesses, Scotland’s Food and Drink, Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce and Inverclyde Council’s Business Gateway and business development service.

Discover Inverclyde will also be using this event to launch their new tourism website – discoverinverclyde.com – the all new tourism destination site which will be used to promote and support Inverclyde and all it’s tourism businesses.
