Good Causes Benefit From Home Fix Scotland Donation

L-R: Ryan Johnston, Eddie Roy, Adam Clocherty and Robert Stewart.

A large amount of office furniture has been donated to local organisations by Inverclyde repairs and maintenance contractor, Home Fix Scotland.

Items including desks, chairs, filing cabinets, and locking cupboards, have been given away, with recipients including the NHS and local social enterprise, Belville Community Gardens.

The items were no longer needed and kept in storage following relocation by housing association River Clyde Homes to new offices in Greenock in 2020.

Sally Clough, manager at Belville Community Garden Trust, said: “We have been able to make great use of the filing cabinets.

“Repurposing items around the community like this is a great way to save resources and help each other out.”

Elaine Gray, purchasing lead at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said: “We’d like to thank River Clyde Homes and Home Fix Scotland for providing us with the furniture for use within our health board.

“This equipment will be put to good use and distributed throughout our acute and primary care sites. Donations such as these are vital as they allow our health board to make important savings on purchasing new equipment.”

Derek Ferguson, managing director, at Home Fix Scotland said: “At Home Fix Scotland, we have always been committed to supporting local communities any way we can so it’s fantastic to see these items being repurposed.”
