Wet Wall Works and Bathroom Elegance company in Greenock have held a reputable standing within the Inverclyde region for nearly three decades.

The expert team behind the bathroom firm are thrilled to have recently launched a brand new, state of the art showroom in Greenock at Unit 30, Lynedoch Industrial Estate, Dellingburn Street (PA15 4AX).

A visit to their new purpose-built showroom is an absolute must. With over 30 full bathroom concept displays, Wet Wall Works and Bathroom Elegance appeals to a wide range of audiences as there is a variety of packages to suit all styles and budgets.

It’s a one-stop shop for all your bathroom products, wet wall panels and luxury click vinyl flooring. The long-established company is also a specialist in bathroom supply, working with a number of reliable local installers, the team are happy to offer their advice and expertise on any queries you may have.

A family affair, Husband and wife duo Alister and Liz MacKenzie, from Greenock, founded Bathroom Elegance almost 30 years ago in the town’s Empress Court. Along with their son Stuart and future son-in-law Gary Webster, Wet Wall Works was later launched in Hillington in September 2014.

In 2016 the company moved to Lynedoch Industrial Estate to increase warehousing capacity to meet the demand of supplying its other branches and a growing online appetite which distributes throughout the UK. Whilst compromising a smaller showroom and larger warehouse to accommodate increasing stock.

Liz said: “What we were overwhelmed by, was the continuous demand for the brand of Bathroom Elegance to provide more showroom displays. I think we underestimated the value of the brand and the reputation that had been built in Inverclyde.”

With stores now in Hillington, Irvine, a growing online presence and a new store opening shortly, Wet Wall Works and Bathroom Elegance has remained firmly rooted within the Inverclyde region.

Liz says: “The Lynedoch Industrial Estate has been a really successful location for us, it’s a very easy and central location to get to with plenty of parking facilities.

“We purchased the warehouse literally in front of us. We’ve since invested in a £450,000 extension onto the existing warehouse, which is where we have built our new state of the art showroom, increased warehouse capacity and modern offices to accommodate growth.

“What we’ve created is a really bespoke beautiful laid out showroom. From a Bathroom Elegance perspective, we have lots of exclusive ranges, and we are also importing a large range of our own branded products which means we are now very competitive. This opens our market further to developers and trade customers where we can’t be beaten on price.”

Experts in their field due to the rapid growth of the Wet Wall Works brand following successful marketing campaigns on national radio and TV, Wet Wall Works has become a market leader specialising in all types of waterproof wall panelling.

“We start with the PVC range which is versatile and a very cost-effective alternative to tiling, we then have an exclusive digitally printed range, which is manufactured in the UK and can literally print any design of your choice,” adds Liz.

She also notes the company’s Solid Core range as being a particular hit with customers because it is very similar looking to tiles without all the grout issues and high cost of installation.

“It’s in a large tile format, and it is tongue and grooved on all four sides, so it uniquely clicks together on the wall. It is available in lots of modern looking designs and colours, and we are the sole major stockists of this product.”

All Wet Wall Works and Bathroom Elegance products sold in the showroom are stocked on-site in a 17,500 sq ft warehouse. All luxury vinyl tiles and planks are imported as the firm now boasts a large stock of flooring ranges. Ceiling panels and bathroom accessories can be sourced from the premises also.

Liz says: “The top of the range of our wall panels is our marine plywood panels, all available from stock in a range of beautiful colours and designs.”

Not only did Directors Liz and Alister invest in a £450,000 warehouse extension, but demand has grown in such rapid succession over the last few months that the team have hired three new staff members.

As the longest trading bathroom company in Inverclyde, Wet Wall Works and Bathroom Elegance is a reliable one-stop supplier. Alister started off in the industry as a full-time served plumber, his full experience and technical knowledge has proved invaluable when conversing with clients on specific bathroom requirements.

Liz and Alister have every confidence in their brand, which is why together they chose to invest even during a time of great uncertainty.

“We could have bought a warehouse anywhere, but we actively chose to stay in Inverclyde,” Liz explains.

“Alister and I are Greenock born and bred and it was a conscious decision to stay and build our headquarters here in Greenock so that we could provide local employment and serve our local trade and retail customers.”
