The Scottish Chambers of Commerce (SCC) are set to host an inaugural Global Business Dinner on the 22nd of June at the Glasgow Science Centre with keynote speeches from Scottish Nobel Prize-winning chemist, Professor David MacMillan and Scotland’s Deputy First Minister, John Swinney MSP.

This landmark business event of the summer will be hosted by leading Scottish journalist, Kaye Adams and will also hear speeches from Dr Liz Cameron CBE, Chief Executive of SCC and Stephen Leckie, SCC President and CEO of the Crieff Hydro Group of Hotels.

The event offers a unique opportunity to connect with some of Scotland’s most influential business leaders, media personalities and politicians.

Celebrating Scotland’s contributions to the world, this event will bring together over 500 industry leaders and over 300 companies to recognise the best of Scottish business and entrepreneurship.

Commenting ahead of the event, Dr Liz Cameron said:

“The Scottish Chambers of Commerce are looking forward to welcoming Prof. MacMillan back to Scotland and highlighting the depth and quality of Scottish talent around the world. We are delighted that our Deputy First Minister, John Swinney will also offer his support as we look ahead, acknowledging the excellence of Scottish business and opportunities internationally.

“Having Scotland’s 15th Nobel Prize winner, a leading global Scot, addressing Scotland’s business community alongside the Deputy First Minister is a real privilege and highlights Scotland’s continued contribution to business and innovation.”

Commenting, Prof. David MacMillan said:

“It will be an honour and a pleasure to get the opportunity to meet with the business leaders of Scotland, and to chat about my path to the Nobel Prize and appearance on BBC Radio Scotland’s ‘ Off the Ball ’.”

Commenting, Deputy First Minister, John Swinney MSP said:

“Scotland has an incredible array of talent and I am delighted to be joining the Scottish Chamber of Commerce at the Global Business Dinner to celebrate our country’s contributions to the world.

“We have a history steeped with inventiveness, entrepreneurship and flair, and it’s clear to see that continues through the generations – I am especially looking forward to hearing from Professor MacMillan on his journey to Nobel Prize.”
