A prominent development site in upper Gourock has been purchased by Globe Homes to build 22 new homes for Inverclyde.
The land, which is bounded by Tower Drive, Jacobs Drive, and McPherson Drive, was formerly the home of the McPherson Centre, which was demolished in December 2021.
The 1.75-acre site already has local authority approval to create 22 three-bedroom semi-detached houses, following its approval by Inverclyde Council in September 2021.
Globe Homes completed the acquisition last month and is currently developing 24 three, four, and five-bedroom luxury homes at Houston Grove in Renfrewshire, PA6.
City Gate Construction (Scotland) Ltd (CGC) has been appointed as the main contractor for the site, in conjunction with Rebecchi Architectural who is working towards lodging a building warrant submission this month.
The proposed development has seen a high level of interest from the public, all keen to secure the new build homes in a market where demand is outstripping supply currently.
The proposed development is expected to get underway in the Autumn of 2022, with the first homes ready for occupancy in Spring 2023.
ICC Member, Bowman Rebecchi supported the transaction.
Marco Rebecchi, a Director at Bowman Rebecchi and Rebecchi Architectural said:
“Bowman Rebecchi was delighted to support Globe Homes with this acquisition after a high level of interest in the site.
“This is an exciting development, and we look forward to working alongside Globe and City Gate Construction to deliver these highly sought homes in Gourock.
“Bowman Rebecchi has seen a lot of demand from potential purchasers, and we expect this to be a very popular development.”
Further details, including pricing of the development and how to reserve plots, are set to be released in the coming weeks. For more information, please contact sales@bowreb.com.
