Mobile Post Office Services To Support Inverkip And Wemyss Bay

Following the closures of Inverkip, Fenwick, Annbank, Sorn, and Chapelton Post Offices, the Post Office is restoring services to these locations with the introduction of a permanent Mobile service from the week commencing Monday 14 February 2022.

Additionally, the Post Office will be providing temporary Mobile service to local communities of Wemyss Bay, Bonnyton, Newmilns, Darvel, Eaglesham, Houston, Old Kilpatrick, and Lochwinnoch, after temporary closures of Post Offices at those locations, whilst it continues to seek permanent solutions. The temporary Mobile service will also start from the week commencing Monday 14 February 2022.

A Mobile service, which is a travelling Post Office aboard a specifically designed vehicle that brings Post Office services and retail products to communities without relying on fixed premises, is a tried and tested way of maintaining service to smaller communities.

We are therefore pleased to inform you that the postmaster from Johnstone Post Office will be operating the Mobile service.
