Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce (ICC) has announced two appointments, with a new Senior Executive Officer (SEO) and an additional Director to support the ongoing Chambers activities.

Rachel Burns (above, left), former administration manager for local regeneration body Riverside Inverclyde (Ri), has joined the Chamber with immediate effect, replacing long-term SEO Margaret Moran, who stepped down in July 2019 after three years.

ICC President, Gavin McDonagh said:

“We are delighted to be able to secure someone of Rachel’s calibre to further drive the Chamber forward. Rachel will help the Chamber to bring fresh energy to our members and Directors.

“I’d like to thank Margaret for all of her support, dedication and commitment during her time in post and wish her every success with her new role.”

Rachel joined Ri in 2017, having worked in Glasgow in the private corporate and brand protection sectors for seven years. Prior to this, Rachel was a Modern Apprentice with IBM in Greenock.

On becoming the new SEO at Inverclyde Chamber, Rachel said:

“I am delighted to have joined the Chamber and I’m really looking forward to meeting with and spending time with our varied membership.

“It is an exciting time for ICC, and I look forward to further supporting the local business community in Inverclyde – my door is always open!”

Another new addition is local businesswoman Lizzy Todd (above, right), who has joined the Board of Directors, with her energy and connections across Scotland seen as key skills to support the Chamber’s future progression.

McDonagh added:

“We have been trying to secure Lizzy for the Chamber for a number of years and so I am delighted that she has decided to join my fellow Directors to further strengthen the team.

“The Chamber is undergoing an exciting refresh currently, which we look forward to revealing to the Inverclyde business community at the end of Summer.”
