West Care Academy

Inverclyde Chamber is pleased to join forces with West College Scotland to supports its new West Care Academy.

West Care Academy is an integrated skills programme offering training designed to equip learners with the essential skills required to pursue a career in the Care sector.

The aim is to develop the skills of Care workers and build the collaboration, innovation and leadership capability of local Care business to meet the challenges of a post pandemic society

It includes 2 different skills programmes for care staff.

Who is eligible to apply?

- Local people living in Inverclyde or West Dunbartonshire who are currently unemployed looking to enter the Care sector.

- Those experiencing poor Mental Health and Wellbeing issues that are acting as a barrier to learning and work.

- Care workers looking to upskill to pursue supervisory or management roles.

- Care employees in decision and leadership roles looking for professional development.

Course Delivery

Starting March courses will be delivered through a combination of community in Inverclyde and West Dunbartonshire, work based and online learning.

This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.
