The number of people in work in Scotland rose slightly during the summer as job vacancies hit a record high, according to official figures.

The UK Government is to delay introducing post-Brexit checks on food and farming imports to England, Scotland and Wales, blaming Covid disruption and pressure on global supply chains.

Scotland’s GDP in real terms during the second quarter of 2021 grew by 4.7% compared to the previous quarter. Over the same period, the total UK GDP grew by 4.8%.
